Agito/Akito Wanijima

When Akito/Agito first landed on the Mallowmateys world (a mostly ocean planet, full of pirates and which the only way of travelling is by boat) Agito’s didn’t trusted anyone, his basic instincts of protecting Akito kicking in and making him get a boat for himself and Akito and stay just the two of them for some time.

This plan would be altered when Akito misinterpreted a talk with Mello, convincing himself that Mello was in love with him and accidentally falling in love with Mello. This would make Akito start to stalk Mello constantly, and since his love wasn’t reciprocated (much on the contrary), Agito would soon have to come out and protect his body from the constant shooting and attempts of killing Akito that came from Mello.

Agito wouldn’t get along with Mello for that obvious reason, but as time passed and Agito was forced to be around Mello more and more, his hate for Mello slowly developed in something else.

Agito didn’t enjoy the fact that he was getting closer to Mello, yet, he didn’t have a choice since Akito wished to be near Mello.

Mello during that time started to gather around assassins in his ship, making Agito worry that Mello might get killed, his closeness had make Agito see him as another person to protect. So when Mello came to him and asked if he wanted to be apart of his crew, Agito ended up accepting, so that he would be able to protect Mello, even if he knew that he was being used as a tool.

As Akito noticed that Agito was developing feelings for Mello also and in order to maintain the balance on their existence, both Akito and Agito made a promise of sharing Mello between them, so if Akito was with Mello, except if there was a life threatening situation (or someone else switched the patch), Agito wouldn’t appear, and same if it was Agito with Mello. Setting their objectives on helping Mello reaching his goals and making him happy.

None of them expected to actually have their one-sided feelings corresponded, since Mello would spend most of the time that Akito was around having a nervous breakdown, and when it was Agito they would spend most of their time fighting over Mello’s reckless behaviour. But Agito’s constant caring after a year started to reach Mello, and slowly their relationship changed. Thought, they never seize to get each other’s nerves.
